Since 1992, ASETS UK has been working with organisations, of all sizes, to help communicate their message to audiences large and small.

Our skilled team can help with all aspects of your event. From audiovisual (AV), to stage set design and even full production management.

We work closely with your project managers from concept to completion making any bespoke solution possible. For example, many stage sets start as a sketch following a briefing, from there the design is brought to life in our Blackpool based warehouse. Installation of the finished set can be completed by our team of technicians.

Meet the Leadership Team

James Laughland

Managing Director

James began working in the merchant navy before moving into the offshore oil industry. He started working at ASETS during his down time from the rigs and within 6 months was working full time as the Technical Director of ASETS. An opportunity arose in 2001 to acquire the business and he has been MD ever since. “The variety of conferences and events we deliver really keeps us on our toes and it’s an incredibly rewarding job to see an initial design idea turn into a full event production”

Ashley Morton

Production Director

Ashley is a time served carpenter and joiner by trade and has also enjoyed success as a professional singer, so can put himself in the client’s shoes when it comes to their stage set and event content. Since joining ASETS in 2001, he has masterminded events with 50 through to 1200 attendees. One of his favourite tasks is taking care of VIP areas at festivals, helping the client to manage and add all the finishing touches to turn them into something special and memorable.

Rob Hill

Technical Manager

Rob having previously worked for AV hire companies and as a freelance AV technician, joined the business in 2006 as Technical Manager. He works closely with Ashley on planning and developing an event from initial CAD drawings and equipment specification through to the final delivery, overseeing every part of the production including lights, sound, video, and live camera to provide a solution to fit our client’s needs and budget. With the recent explosion in virtual events he’s now become fully conversant with all aspects of the virtual world and streaming events.
